Morris Arboretum

In our expanding world tour of gardens, Melissa and I recently spent some time at the Morris Arboretum in Chestnut Hill, the part of Philly where I was born.

Yes, there’s trees at the Morris Arboretum. Big deal? Well, just go and check it out and then you’ll be all like, "Damn, those trees were amazing."

The Morris Arboretum is something that you can conquer in a little over 2 hours, and made for a nice walk. At times, it felt that we were the only ones there, but it was on a Friday, so I’m not sure what the weekends are like. Definitely very relaxing and less touristy than Longwood Gardens was, although it’s probably just 1/10 the size of LG.

Someone kept dumping leaves on Melissa’s head.

Melissa refreshes herself at a  pump that served Red Bull. Weird, right?

We then walked around Chestnut Hill and acted like we could afford to freely shop there. We opted, instead, for pastries and coffee at Metropolitan Bakery after checking out the bears of ZOO 2.

This punk rock bear was my favorite of the bunch.
