Phillies Phishtown Celebration
Saturday, November 1st, 2008On October 29th, 2008, I watched the Phillies win the World Series at Johnny Brendas in Fishtown. Below is some footage shot moments after the victory, when the tightly packed bar exploded with energy and everyone ran outside to make some noise. This was a great celebration in Fishtown with loads of fireworks, honking horns, non-stop high-fives,and just pure hilarity.
Does Vimeo look better?

Phillies Championship Parade
Saturday, November 1st, 2008Here’s some footage of the Philadelphia Phillies Championship Parade on Broad Street. It was a beautiful day out, blue skies, mid-60s, and loads of fans everywhere. We started at 15th & Market Streets, which was an absolute nightmare. Descending down to Broad & Washington Streets made for a better view and a more fun crowd as well.
YouTube or Vimeo…Which one looks better?!

Do It For Steve Irwin!
Friday, October 24th, 2008Uggh, Game 2 of the World Series last night was torturous to watch. It was great to see Bruntlett score big and Ruiz be a hitting machine (?!), but damn, it was a tough one to watch.
What made it even more difficult to watch was that I tried out a new venue, The Urban Saloon, which was disastrously understaffed. The greasy burger that I got took forever to arrive, and was served on toast that wasn’t even qualified to be called Texas Toast. It was accompanied by about 12 undercooked fries. The Urban Saloon is massive, with a bar and many tables, multiple hi-def TVs, and a massive "back room" that looks like it should be used for a lame wedding reception.
Now we can only hope to win 3 games in a row and win the shebang in Philly! And, most importantly, they have to do it for Steve! When I saw this Photoshop creation (see below), and others like it floating around on the web, I lost my shit. Let all the Tampa Bay parents give their kids those dumbass mohawks and then dye it blue. We need to avenge the tragic death of Steve Irwin, a man destroyed by a Ray.

Phillies N.L. East Champions!
Sunday, September 28th, 2008Last night, I was at the Phillies game with Melissa to witness the Philadelphia Phillies win the 2008 N.L. East title at their 161st game of the year! What a stressful and close game! Moments after the double-play at the top of the 9th that ended the game, I shot some footage.
This is probably some of the WORST footage I’ve shot in my life, but I was so crazed and just wanted to take it all in. Excuse the shakiness! What a great time…At the end of the footage is little Leo DiCello, my friend Russ’s son. This was his FIRST game ever, and what a great first game for him to take in. Too bad he won’t remember any of it!

Phillies Summer Solstice Fun
Friday, June 27th, 2008After the Magic Garden fun, I met up with the Virginville Crew and Richie-Rich, along with the Celebrity Kids Duo for a smoldering hot day at Citizen’s Bank Park. Being the longest day of the year and sitting above right field made for non-stop sunlight action. Luckily, I wore sun screen and kept getting up to eat as much as possible. We ended up at Johnny Brenda’s, of course. Where else?
Richie Rich enjoys a hot dog and a brew. That’s a New Hampshire shirt he’s wearing, not a Yankees shirt. (A drunk guy in the bathroom was barking at him about it.)
Jen and Wayne chillin’ in the sun.
And the sun keeps hanging on. Richie Rich sporting a beard longer than Wayne’s?
Wayne and his blue cast, soon to be departed from it.
Wayne outside of Johnny Brenda’s with his Smurf blue cast.

AccuWeather
Friday, May 16th, 2008Melissa and I had 2 Devotchka tickets to sell, and we thought that we had a couple of takers, but they both bailed! Melissa surprised me with the tickets one day, but then we got a late invite to a wedding of people near & dear to Melissa, causing us to have to try and sell them online.
So, if you’re on the market of getting married, send out your invitations a little bit sooner than 2 months away from the wedding date!
Tonight, we’re supposed to go see the Phillies vs. Blue Jays, but it’s looking like steady rain. I decided to give AccuWeather.com a shot, as Weather.com seems to be making shit up again. The forecasts truly are different in terms of precipitation.
What really got me is how much this guy loves his job. Check out the video below for the delivery by this meteorologist. I must say, he can really let off some steam at his job, and have loads of fun doing so. Or, maybe he’s just liquored up a bit.

Phillies Phever
Monday, May 5th, 2008April was a great month for the Phils, even with J-Roll’s injury and Howard’s miserable slump. This past Friday, we went to see the first game in a series against the Giants. NEVER again will I leave a tie game at the top of the ninth just to beat some traffic and meet up with friends. I missed a 2-run game winning home from Pat Burrell at the bottom of the 10th! Damn’t!
Below is a shot of us checking out the bleacher seats. This is a really cool area to hang out in, right near Ashburn Alley where you can taunt the opposing team’s relief pitchers warming up.

Classic Kalas
Wednesday, September 5th, 2007Here is my buddy, Brad, doing one of his improvised impersonations of Harry Kalas. This is a classic "boombox" recording from around 1995. Harry Kalas
